The MGM Springfield Casino & Hotel was one of the most rigorous and comprehensive projects I had ever worked on in my career. Spanning nearly two years of development my company was contracted for the fabrication of their illuminated way finding signage package.
Working as the intermediary between provided concept request and real-world fabrication capabilities, I became the problem solver and bearer of bad news on countless occasions. The initial design brief was a very lofty goal, requiring top-notch double-sided illumination packed into the smallest tightest of tolerances. Our shop even took on advanced heat forming techniques, never attempted before to make the clients vision a reality. I worked interdepartmentally to source new materials, and cross-reference their specifications to create the most condensed while reliable fabrication method for the fifty plus hanging signs to be ordered.
